Most part of the issue’s articles is dedicated to the problems of vocational education quality control, such as: topical problems of Management students training, students’, and particularly Design students‘, creative thinking development, and adoption of interactive learning technology in higher school.
All the journal sections cover a problem of education quality for knowledge-based economy. The authors’ papers deal with would-be managers’ successful career building, professional and mental set as a factor of vocational interest formation, development of information and dialogue management culture, and social and vocational adjustment.
The key problem discussed in the issue is that of competitive specialist training. The matters of students’ critical thinking development, functionally significant characteristics of a professional as a component of their information and communication competence, economics specialists training, future directions for vocational training in the field of hotel and restaurant business under the conditions of economic crisis are considered.
Thematic scope of the issue is the development of competences of various types in the process of vocational training of specialists which includes research, information, intercultural, communication, occupational, and production ones. The problem of preschoolers’ key competencies is covered.
The authors continue discussion of the idea of competency building approach in the context of vocational education modernization: development of general competences by means of information technology, conditions of project thinking formation, research activities projection, the problems of students’ occupational readiness analysis and monitoring.
The issue’s articles are dedicated to the problem of interconnection and interdependence of various type competences formation, and the use in this aspect of innovative technologies in higher school, in all educational processes, such as: upbringing, development, and training.
The attention of most of the articles’ authors is paid to solving such pedagogical problem as peculiarities of work with under aged teens (problem teenagers, ‘transient’ children, and children with deviant behaviour) at school, institutions of social safety, social rehabilitation centres, and at home. The questions of training teachers for work with this category of children are considered.
The fist area investigated in the articles is that of organisation of educational process at different levels and stages: pre-school, special, distant, and vocational ones; the problems of student government and managerial culture of a higher education establishment’s head. The second area is a multilevel system of higher vocational education and development of professional competences specified by the third generation state educational standards.
A new section is included into the journal. Its heading is Innovation Phenomena in the Frame of Continuing Education. It contains papers on preschool education quality control, environmental education of senior pupils, and children’s additional education. Other sections’ articles are dedicated to the problems of pedagogical process’ arrangement and control quality improvement in vocational education establishments.
Most part of the issue’s articles is dedicated again to the problem of higher education graduates’ competences development, formation of personal qualities and system of values. However, the author’s attention is drawn to the subject that just starts its development in pedagogy – formation of interethnic tolerance and ethnic awareness.
Presence of generous amount of the articles devoted to teaching methods and technologies determines the issue’s leading topic: ‘Project Teaching Method’. This method is considered in terms of the main educational programmes’ realization in higher education establishments; organization of independent student work; students’ professional competency formation; training competitive specialist; teaching foreign languages. The authors have also shown up the facilities of information resources and the Internet; peculiarities of implementation and prospects for the development of project method in education. In the journal the articles on improvement of education quality, development of the system of work with gifted children, strategic partnership in innovative educational activities, and others are represented.
The journal has a new regular column ‘Innovations and Problems in the Global Educational Environment’. The authors are colleagues from abroad and the issues discussed are: impact of social and cultural development on education in Russia; problems of implementing innovative techniques in the curriculum; problems of information support of the curriculum; problems of gender education, ethnic and civic awareness in national cultures.
The papers in the journal mainly focus on two aspects of education: 1) training future teachers in organization of self-education, forming moral values of school students, making classes with school students psychologically comfortable and assessment of student’s progress with the credit system; 2) solving social problems in the activities of public institutions: models of working with gifted children, orphans, people with special needs and family education. Papers by E.V. Yakovlev, N.O. Yakovleva and M.M. Ovchinnikova are especially interesting.
A new column ‘RBIM: Innovative education’ that includes papers by RBIM staff has been introduced to develop the message of the journal. Other columns cover the issues of education quality and technologies and young researchers publish their first scientific papers. The papers focus on the problems of pre-school children cognitive development, professional personal identity of future teachers, formation of teacher’s organization culture, civic and patriotic values of young people.
Issue ¹ 1, 2012 is special. It publishes papers by the academics of Kostanay State Pedagogical Institute, which is a well known educational research centre. A wide scope of problems is discussed: 1) development and prospects of educational reform in Kazakhstan, global tendencies, integration and globalization of the educational system, ethnic worldview and its impact on the educational system, gender policy in Kazakhstan; 2) problems of organizing student’s research and independent work; 3) application of innovative technologies: imaging, innovative projects in the realization of competence approach while teaching Kazakh elocution and electronic textbook as a means of forming student’s competences.
The largest section in this issue is INNOVATIONS IN CONTINUING EDUCATION. It includes papers by school teachers on innovative project learning in teaching Physics, Chemistry, Geometry and Music as well as on psychological aspects of project learning and integration of practice focused research and research based practice. The papers discuss the problems of assessing student’s progress; management of student self-learning; encouragement of student independence and creativity. Some aspects of the philosophy of Pedagogy are also discussed.
The issue contains papers on the problems of educational practices and development of educational management: higher school partnership, informatization management, art education and social infrastructure in the context of the life-long education.
Problems of education and development of students are discussed: forming a client-oriented culture of managers, experiences of project weeks at a higher school, formation of student’s projecting competence, development of school student’s giftedness, formation of universal learning acts and personality of students via projecting.
Issue No 4, 2012 is special. It publishes the articles of the leading experts of the Institute of Professional Development of Teachers in Kostanayskaya oblast, the Republic of Kazakhstan, of JSC "National Training Center “Orleu”. The papers cover the problems of forming the national model of education and the history of teacher’s qualification upgrade in Kazakhstan. The problems of innovative processes in continuing education and topical issues quality management in education are discussed.
