Abstract: The article considers the actual problem of improving the quality of education. Modern society is unimaginable without computer technology, and virtual distance education is gaining popularity. However, the potential of the technology of virtual teaching to improve the quality of education is insufficiently studied. The authors attempt to identify opportunities for virtual teaching to improve the quality of education. To do this the writes analyse the key concepts, explore advantages and disadvantages of virtual teaching, find the coefficient of similarity of the technology of virtual teaching with the help of method of expert estimations.
