Abstract: The development of the economy of rapid development (the economy of innovation) necessitates significant changes in the system of higher education. First of all, it concerns technical and economic education. The integration of technical and economic knowledge begins on a fundamental basis. As a result, special engineering and economic knowledge and education arise. The nature of engineering and economic knowledge in the economy of innovations, features of its development, peculiarities of the organization of the educational process are considered in the article. The recommendations for the economic faculties of technical universities are given
