Abstract: The article analyzes the concept of «methodological work» and its structural components, as well as the concept of «independent work of students». The structure of independent work, pedagogical requirements for the effective organization of independent work in the learning process is considered. The methodology of organization of search independent work as an effective form of training is discussed. The emphasis is placed on the fact that independence as a distinctive personality quality is one of the most important in teaching, and that students should be given as much independence as possible in training. The expediency of students’ fulfillment of complex assignments in independent work, beginning with junior courses, is noted. When organizing independent work, it is necessary to ensure its information support. Characteristics of the discipline of the professional cycle are given. The organizational and methodological recommendations for performing independent work on the discipline of the professional cycle are presented: the purpose, the procedure for performing the work, and methodological instructions for performing tasks for independent work.
