Àííîòàöèÿ: The article is concerned with the paradoxes that arise in the course of Education Reform in Kazakhstan. A personal insight is provided by a university lecturer in comparison with the official point of view. A number of issues are disputed, such as National Standardized Test format, academic mobility of students and faculty, and the elective courses choice procedures.
